The Catalyze Challenge

The Catalyze Challenge offers grants of up to $500,000 to design, pilot, and expand innovative solutions that support students in accessing economic opportunity through career-integrated learning.

In June, Skild partnered with the American Student Assistance, Charter School Growth Fund, and the Walton Family Foundation to launch the challenge over two consecutive school years.

The challenge is currently accepting applications for the 2021-22 school year. Who can apply? The Catalyze Challenge seeks ideas from organizations and partnerships supporting historically underserved communities, including schools & educators, employers, government agencies, entrepreneurs, and organizations representing workers & employers, and community members.

Winning ideas should possess three distinct characteristics:

  • Center on inventive or novel approaches to creating economic opportunity through career-connected learning

  • Serve students in Grades 6 to 14

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of how the solution serves at least one historically underserved community
