Skild “Reacts” - Completes Major Upgrade!

We’re thrilled to announce that Skild has fully revamped its Contestant app, adopting modern web technologies and architectures. At a technical level, the new Contestant app employs a modern javascript framework, called React, built on top of a RESTful API. This upgrade has many benefits for both Skild’s customers and challenge participants.

Participants will notice that the application feels much zippier, is more mobile-friendly, and provides a better overall user experience. Our team utilized the material design framework to follow best industry design standards. Moving away from proprietary design, and adopting the material design standards also allows us to accelerate our development of new features.

 Skild’s clients can benefit from the extensibility provided by the new architecture. By moving to a completely web services model, the Skild application is both a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) and PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service). As a PaaS, customers with web development resources can take advantage of the flexibility delivered by the web services. This leads to more robust integration capabilities with Skild and opens up exciting creative opportunities for clients to customize their own Contestant app.
