LAUNCHED: The College Persistence Challenge

SEO Scholars transforms public high school students into confident college graduates. They aim to create a more equitable society by closing the academic and opportunity achievement gap for motivated young people.

SEO Scholars has announced the College Persistence Challenge to address some of the biggest barriers to graduating from college in four years. Think you have a solution? They'd love to hear your idea!

Tell them about a product, service, or idea you have to help high achieving, first-generation, low-income college students graduate in four years.   Please address one of the following limitations students face:

  • Accessing resources to improve mental health

  • Finding alternative funding streams, other than loans to limit college debt

  • Building relationships and a support system with classmates on campus

In the first round, five finalists will be selected and each will receive $1,000 in prize money.  Finalists in round one will be moved to the second round of the challenge to create a prototype of their first-round pitch.  Final winners will share $15,000 in prize money!

Applications are now open and will be accepted through January 14, 2019. The challenge is open to the public, anyone age 14 and above.

The SEO College Persistence Challenge is made possible through the generous support of the Lumina Foundation.
