142 Startups are one step closer to $1M - 43North 2016 Business Competition

Each year, the 43North business competition awards $5 million in cash prizes and services to some of the best and brightest entrepreneurs and startups from around the globe.  Awards include a one $1 million grand prize, six $500,000 prizes and four $250,000 prizes.

43North is part of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Buffalo Billion initiative, which is driving new economic opportunities throughout Buffalo and Western New York. Additionally, the competition operates through the support of the New York Power Authority.

Recently, the administrators of 43North announced that 142 competitors have advanced into the semi-final round.  You can see the full list here.

The winners from this year’s competition are expected to be announced this fall.  In the meantime, check out this video highlighting one of the winning startups from last year’s competition.
