Launched: Grow-NY, a Food and Agricultural Competition

On March 31, Grow-NY launched its third annual food and agriculture business competition, which identifies, supports, and funds the top food, beverage, and agriculture innovations across the globe.

Winning companies commit to making a positive impact in the growing startup hub located in New York state’s Finger Lakes, Central NY, and Southern Tier regions.

In total, Grow-NY will award $3 million in prize money to seven winners, all payable in stages based on business milestones. Awards include a $1 million grand prize, two $500,000 prizes, and four $250,000 prizes. In addition, winners receive mentorship, training, business development support, and tax incentives.

Last year’s grand prize winner was Soos Technology, which mitigates male-chick culling by transforming male chickens into egg-laying females. Their innovation prevents wasted incubation capacity, electricity, water, and time.As in past years, Skild is proud to power the Grow-NY competition.
